A registered charity dedicated to the conservation of badgers in Lancashire.

Fundays and Shows

Once or twice a month we attend Lancashire's fetes and shows with a stand which explains all about the Lancashire Badger Group and the badgers who live in Lancashire.

We try and list the shows we attend on our Future Events page.

As well as providing factual information to the public, we also provide a Raffle/Tombola - every ticket wins a prize of some sort, and the funds you give help badgers across Lancashire. We do other fun stuff too - children can find out about badgers, meet "Barry" our resident preserved badger. They can check out his scary teeth and long claws, find out what he ate and all about him.

These shows also provide a great opportunity to meet members of the public and explain how they can help badgers by becoming members of the group. As well as Barry and the Tombola prizes, we usually have samples of newsletters and recent badger news stories, photos and other interesting stuff on our display boards.

Lancashire Badger Group Funday at Queen's Park in BurnleyShows also provide a good way to find out about badgers and where they have been seen locally. Whilst we would like to think that our badger database includes a high proportion of Lancashire badger setts, we are always surprised about how badgers are still being discovered in new locations. These Fundays are great ways for you to let us know about where your favourite badgers can be seen.

If you want to find out more information about the shows we attend - especially if you want to help out, please email fundays@lancashirebadgergroup.org.uk.

We would also love to have helpers on these fun days. We are grateful for any type of help on the stall, from early on to help set up the stall, and at the end to packing away. There is also the fun bit in the middle, where you can meet the public. Any amount of time you can give would be highly appreciated - even if it half-an-hour as it gives other people the chance to get a sandwich and a cup of tea.
