Training DaysWe run a hands-on badger training day at least once a year. At these days we start off with a multi-media presentation where we show you all about badgers and what they sound like. These are designed to be of interest to new members (covering the badger "basics"), but include information of interest to more experienced members and naturalists. After a short break from the classroom, we will then take off into local woodland to look for signs of badgers. We generally manage to find setts, footprints, hair, scratch marks, latrines and any other evidence they leave behind. We also cover signs which may be confused with badgers; and assess whether hair is from a badger or a fox or a rabbit; or whether tree marks are from deer or badgers.
These friendly and accessible courses are free for members. Some-one who has been on one of our training days should finish the day with enough experience and knowledge to be able to survey an area of land and establish whether badgers are present in that area. If you would be interested in attending one of our training days, please Contact Us. Please note that these popular training days are usually booked up very quickly by our members! |
