Helping OutMembers can help with surveying badger setts or feeding grounds. You can also help manually with the hard work of Sett Protection work such as sett capping (where we protect a badger sett so it can not be dug into). You are also more than welcome if you could help at Slide Shows and Talks in the evenings to community groups and at Fundays and Shows at Country parks, Fairs and Large country/agricultural Shows to educate and inform the public about badgers and raise valuable funds for the group. We are always on the lookout for people who can help in an administrative capacity too, so please Contact Us if you can spare a little of your time. We also provide help and advice in the following areas if there are any issues or problems involving badgers:
We recognise that occasionally badgers can cause problems of subsidence where they excavate setts. Accordingly, we willingly work with landowners to minimise any detrimental effects the presence of badgers may cause. Importantly, as badgers and their setts are protected by law, we are limited by what we can do at first, but it's always worth a call to us. However, if we need to perform significant works on or near a badger sett, we are happy to apply for the correct Badger Licence from Natural England which is needed before any significant building, fencing or other works can be started. Please Contact Us if you have any badger-related problems. |
