Illegal activity concerning badgers

If you ever come across any illegal activity concerning badgers:

Van parked on remote country road at nightIllegal activity involving badgers includes things like:

  • Digging at a Badger Sett.
  • The act of putting dogs down into a badger sett.
  • Other potential animal cruelty incidents (such as putting ferrets down into a badger sett).
  • Becoming aware of badgers injured as a result of fighting with dogs or people.
  • Treating a dog in a vets surgery which has received dog or badger fighting injuries

In these circumstances, you should first ring the Emergency number (999) and ask for the Police.

Stress the fact that you are reporting a badger-related crime, and specifically request that the call be transferred to the local Police Wildlife Officer.

Even if you have called the Police, you may also like to phone the BADGERLINE.

This is because the Police will often ask us to get involved as "expert witnesses" and it will save time if you could contact us directly as well.

Please help us to help the badgers.
