Annual General Meeting (AGM) Report 2009

Saturday 25th April 2009 - 6:45pm at Broughton Village Hall (just north of Preston)

MORE DETAILED REPORT TO FOLLOW SOON

This years Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held on:

Date:

Saturday 25th April

Start Time:

6:45pm

Location:

Broughton Village Hall, Whittingham Lane, Broughton, Preston  PR3 5DA

Speaker:

George Pearce - Badger Consultant

George Pearce started his working life as a farmer, but gradually became more interested in wildlife. He soon fell in love with badgers and was one of the founding forces behind the Shropshire Badger Group. He then started a completely new career as a badger consultant.

Being a badger consultant was not just a new role for George, it was a new role for Great Britain, as he was one of the first professional badger consultants.

He has contributed a great deal to what has now become a highly skilled wildlife profession. He has more than 50 years experience working with badgers and other wildlife, flora and fauna.

We are expecting that there will be considerable interest in what George Pearce has to say about his lifetime of badger experiences. We are also hoping that George will be able to talk about the role of career prospects for a wildlife consultant in the modern world.

George Pearce is without doubt held in very high regard as an entertaining, witty and informative speaker.

Supper:

We again provided a hot supper at a modest cost. The choices were:
  • Lancashire Hotpot (£3.50)
  • Cheese Bake (£3.00)
  • Apple Pie with Cream (£1.25)

Hot or Cold drinks were also available, as was a licensed bar.

Because of the popularity of our speaker, it is vital that we knew how many people wanted to have supper.

YOU MUST HAVE BOOKED SUPPER IN ADVANCE IF YOU WANTED TO EAT.

Please contact the Badgerline or email hide@lancashirebadgergroup.org.uk to reserve your food.

The easiest way to follow the M6 motorway and exit at Junction 32, joining the M55 towards Blackpool.

At the roundabout, take the exit marked for A6/Garstang Road and head north towards Garstang.
