Badger Training Day
Saturday 16th October at Spring Wood at Whalley
We ran TWO badger training days this year.
- The badger training day was aimed at anyone who wishes to gain the
basics on identifying badger habitat, setts and behaviour.
- The course was run twice; Once on Friday 10th September and will
be repeated again on Saturday 16th October.
- Members only needed to attend one day.
- The venue is Spring Wood picnic site at the top of Accrington Road,
Whalley BB7 9TD.
- The day started at 10.30am with a PowerPoint presentation covering the
basics of badger ecology, habitat and behaviour. Aspects on protection and
legislation will also be covered. There will be a short break at lunch time
followed by a visit on foot to badger setts in the local area.
- Participants needed to bring something for lunch (there are shops in
Whalley village) suitable clothes and footwear for walking.
- Tea and coffee will be provided.
- We finished around 2.30 to 3pm.
