Protecting badgers and their setts from persecution and criminal activity, through regular survey and monitoring by volunteers. We provide information , talks or training to the public regarding the natural history and needs of badgers, raising awareness of the persecution and other issues that they face. Campaigning on local and National issues that affect badgers.
Ecology and Behaviour
Badgers are shy, nocturnal animals that live in underground chambers connected by a network of tunnels (a sett).
Threats and Persecution
Badgers have no natural predator yet are one of the most timid animals in our countryside. Their greatest threat is man.
Bovine Tuberculosis
Lancashire’s badgers remain free of bTb. Incidences of bTb in Lancashire’s cattle still remain comparatively very low.
